Jebel Jais / Jabal Jais – a mountain in North-Western Hajar Mountains, in Ras al Khaimah emirate, the highest point in the UAE (around 1892-1910 m). The top of the mountain (1934 m) is located in Musandam Governorate in Oman. Therefore the highest peak of UAE is nearby Jebal Al Mebrah / Jabal Ybir (1527 m).
The temperature at Jebel Jais is lower than in lower parts of the UAE. During winter months, not every year howerever, there is snow on Jebel Jais.
At Jebel Jais slope on UEA side there is Jais Adventure Peak with:
- Jebel Jais Flight – the world’s longest zipline (2832 m), it will take you 2-3 minutes to go down from 1680 m with the speed up to 150 km/h, opened in February 2018;
- Jais Sky Tour;
- Jais Sky Maze.
Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) – one of the seven emirates of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) – 4th largest (2486 km2) and 5th most populous (345 000 inhabitants), with the capital in the city of Ras Al Khaimah (RAK City) and the most fertile soil in the UAE.
RAK is a part of UAE since 1972. The RAK Emirate consist of nothern part (with RAK City), inland enclave in the south (with Shawka settlement) and few small islands in Arabian (Persian) Gulf.
The name “Ras Al Khaimah” means “top of the tent”.
Ras Al Khaimah City, the capital of Ras Al Khaimah Emirate, located at Arabian (Persian) Gulf coast, in medieval times the port of Julfar, which was one of the oldest settlements in the country. It is 6th most populous city in the UAE. Divided by the creek and mangroves into two main districs: Old Town and Nakheel.
