In the afternoon

Palace of Culture and Science (Polish: Pałac Kultury i Nauki – PKiN) in Warsaw, Poland.

Completed in 1955 (after 3 years of construction), designed by Soviet Russian architect Lev Rudnev in the style inspired by Polish historical architecture and American art deco. Until 2002 it was the tallest clock tower in the world (now it is at third position, first: Abraj Al Bait Towers in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, second: NTT Docomo Yoyogi Building in Tokyo, Japan).

The Palace was a gift of Soviet Union (it was bearing the name of Stalin but it was revoked long time ago) and it was called the Eighth Sister of Seven Sisters (a group of seven similar skyscrapers in Moscow).
