The Empty Quarter

The Empty QuarterRub’ al Khali – desert seen from Tal Moreeb, one of the highest dunes in the world, considered to be the tallest one in the United Arab Emirates.

The Rub’ al Khali – a part of Arabian Desert – 1,000 km long, 500 km wide, with thae area of 650,000 km², covering parts of Saudi Arabia, Oman, UAE and Yemen.

Tal Moreeb and Rub’ al Khali are filming locations for many movies: Dune (2020), 6 Underground (2019), Race 3 (2018), Furious 7 (2015).

Tal Moreeb – Scary Mountain

Tal Moreeb (from Arabic: Scary Mountain) / Moreeb Dune – 300 m high dune (with slope of 50 degree), one of the highest in the world, considered to be the tallest in the UAE. Located at Rub’ al Khali (the Empty Quarter) desert, near Liwa Oasis. Popular for organised drag races and dune bashing.
