Oka and the Lake of Two Mountains

Oka, a village in Quebec, Canada, not far from Montreal in the Laurentians valley (region of Laurentides) on the Lake of Two Mountains, where the Ottawa confluences with the St. Lawrence River.
The name of the Lake of Two Mountains (Lac des Deux Montagnes) comes from two highest peaks of Mont Oka (Calvaire Mountain and Saint-Joseph-du-Lac Hill).

Parc national d’Oka, a beautiful park with the beach, with with hiking and cross-country skiing trails.

This park has a rich historical and natural heritage. The Calvaire, with its four oratories and three chapels, is a unique complex of historic buildings in America. In Grande Baie and Rivière aux Serpents, land and water come together to give birth to ecological jewels: the wetlands. Winter and summer alike, the top of the Calvaire d’Oka trail provides an exceptional view of Lac des Deux Montagnes and the Adirondacks.
