Around the world in 182 days: Germany

An engaging look at an environmental trailblazer. Pavilion of Germany at EXPO 2020 in Dubai, UAE.

March 2022

Campus Germany. ‘Enrol’ at Campus Germany for an entertaining, surprising, hands-on digital experience. Based around a campus theme, Germany’s pavilion will blend creative environmental ideas with real-life results.

Quick facts – Germany:

  • ‘Energiewende’. Birthplace of the energy revolution.
  • Greener energy. 35% target for 2020 achieved earlier than expected.
  • Nature abounds. 360,000 sqkm of diversity, from islands to Alps.

In the Germany Pavilion – ‘Campus Germany‘:

  • Learn at Campus Germany. The ‘edutainment’ focused pavilion will showcase German innovations and sustainable solutions. Visitors can wear cutting-edge connected devices as they explore themed areas including The Energy Lab, The Future City Lab and The Biodiversity Lab.
  • Let’s swing together. The Graduation Hall will feature swinging seats to symbolise the world coming together. Visitors will be tasked with swinging the seats in unison to reflect how great things can be achieved by acting together, showing there is more that unites than divides us.
  • An exhibition full of entertainment.
  • Campus Germany for kids. Children are the future, so they are very important guests at Campus Germany. With the support of world-famous children’s TV host Armin Maiwald, we have developed playful and fun exhibits that will help explain the world to both young and old alike.
  • A performance stage providing cultural entertainment.
  • Culture everywhere: The Culture Lab. The Culture Lab will feature various genres and sessions: dance, visual arts, games, science, sport and music. The centrepiece of the Culture Lab will be the stage in the atrium of the pavilion, where there will be something happening every day of Expo 2020.
  • A restaurant serving German cuisine.
  • A piece of Germany: The restaurant at Campus Germany. Try typical German dishes such as Currywurst, Sauerbraten beef with Spätzle pasta, red cabbage and apple, or Königsberger Klöpse meatballs with caper sauce and rice, and vegetarian dishes such as Maultasche ravioli with julienne vegetables and potato salad.
