On September 1, 2021 a new countdown has started: 30 days to EXPO 2020 Dubai!

This first world expo ever to be held in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia region will start on 1 October 2021 and will run for half a year until 31 March 2022 – in Dubai, UAE.

The decision to place EXPO 2020 in Dubai was taken on November 27, 2013. For almost 8 years Dubai was preparing to welcome the world.

55 years ago Dubai switched from left-hand to right-hand driving. On September 1, 1966 (on Thursday – which was the first day of the weekend up to 2006) “the change in the rule of the road” came into effect.

The driving change was also done in other Trucial States (the United Arab Emitares union was created some time later – on December 2, 1971).
