Fimmvörðuháls

Fimmvörðuháls (Five Cairns Pass) – the area between the glaciers Eyjafjallajökull and Mýrdalsjökull in Southern Region in Iceland. A 22-km-long hiking route from Skógar (and Skógafoss) to Thórsmörk (Þórsmörk) goes through that area. The route is accessible in summer and it takes 1-2 days to completed. The hiking can be continued at Laugavegur trail to Landmannalaugar. There are two huts in Fimmvörðuháls: Útivist (Icelandic hiking association) hut and Baldvinsskáli hut.
