Chowmahalla Palace

Chowmahalla Palace (Chowmahallat – in Dakhini Urdu “four palaces”) – the palace and official residence of the Nizams of Hyderabad State – the seat of the Asaf Jahi dynasty. The palace was completed in mid 19th century after 100 years of construction.

Inside the palace complex there are few buildings – the most important one: the Dharbar Hall (Khilwat Mubarak) with the royal seat, clock tower (with the mechanical clock working more than 250 years now), two courtyards, gardens, fountains, a collection of vintage cars.

The palace belongs heir of the Nizams: Barkat Ali Khan Mukarram Jah, who decided to restore the palace and open it to the public (2010).
