Verona (Veròna) – a city on the Adige River in Veneto region, Italy. The UNESCO World Heritage Site (urban structure and architecture). Location of Romeo and Juliet and The Two Gentlemen of Verona by William Shakespeare.

- Basilica of San Lorenzo – a Romanesque brick and stone church, from 12. century.
- Santa Maria Antica – a small Romanesque church – and Scaliger Tombs (Arche Scaligere) – richly decorated in Gothic style.
- Sant’Anastasia – a church from 15. century.
- Cathedral of Verona (Complesso della Cattedrale di Verona) – a church consecrated in 1187, built in Romanesque style (remodeled in the Gothic and Renaissance)., with the Altarpiece of the Assumption by Titian.

Verona is also the home of the Roman poet Catull, who became famous for his Lesbia poems, among other things.
