Bibliotheca Alexandrina – Library of Alexandria – major library and cultural center, completed in 2002, in commemoration of the Great Library of Alexandria (the largest in the acient world).
With shelf space for eight million books and the main reading room of 20,000 square metres the library complex, build in a shape of rising sun, includes also six specialized libraries, conference center, four museums, art galleries, a planetarium and a manuscript restoration laboratory.
