Naantali – one of the oldest towns and one of the most important tourist centres in Finland, located on the islands and on the mainland. Founded around the mediaeval catholic St. Bridget’s convent “Vallis gratiae” (from Latin: ‘The Valley of Grace”, in Swedish: “Nådendal” – and from it comes the Finnish name of the town: Naantali).
